Rites Of Spring
It’s the time of year when the Rites Of Spring records end up on my mp3 player for most of the season. Out of all the Revolution Summer bands, most of whom don’t hold up so well, these guys are my favorite. In the fall of 2002 I think the only bands I listened to were Discharge and Rites Of Spring.
I first heard Rites of Spring in late 94/early 95. We used to raid a friend’s older brother’s record collection to dub his vinyl (remember kids, back before file sharing and mp3 blogs, etc) and one of those tapes ended up being Slapshot’s Back On The Map, a couple other random singles from stupid bands, and the Rites Of Spring ep. I ended up going back a few weeks later for the LP too.
