Alternative Tentacles
An ad from the mid eighties for Alternative Tentacles. Featured are three great bands. The Crucifucks are a favorite of mine whose lyrics and attitude seem even more relevant today. I didn’t get too into the Butthole Surfers until a few years back but I do like them. The sleeper hit on AT is the Part Time Christians record. Some of the lyrics are goofy, but the music is pretty sick almost like Die Kreuzen or even Rorschach in some parts. I don’t know a ton about them, but I believe they also have a demo.

I don’t know a lot about later records by DOA or The Dicks. I do know their early records are classics. It is too bad Kill From The Heart is out of print.

Walk Proud
The early New Age records like Walk Proud are not holding up very well. Growing up I had a friend who was really into these bands but I just couldn’t hang with them. The only New Age record I can think of, off the top of my head, that I still enjoy is the Mouthpiece What Was Said LP.

Revelation One-Ten
Here’s an ad for the first ten records on Revelation. Of these records I only really like 6/10, although a couple others are listenable. My favorite Revelation release until the Burn record is easily the Side By Side record. As I lose interest in a lot of the late eighties Revelation/Straight Edge stuff that record continues to blow my mind.
